Meet the Doctors & Our Team
Dr. Tori Ritchie, DC
Owner & Chiropractor
Dr. Tori Ritchie has been serving the Myrtle Beach community since becoming a licensed chiropractor in February 2001. She combines spinal therapy, sports rehabilitation, and nutritional health to provide comprehensive care, focusing on helping patients lead pain-free, drug-free lives. Dr. Tori holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Carolina, earned her Doctor of Chiropractic from the Sherman College of Chiropractic, and completed a Master’s in Applied Clinical Nutrition from the Northeast College of Health Sciences, further expanding her expertise in holistic health.
Outside of her practice, Dr. Tori enjoys a fulfilling family life with her spouse and four children. She is passionate about supporting her alma mater, the University of South Carolina, and can often be found cheering on the Gamecocks. Dr. Tori’s commitment to her family and community reflects her dedication to both personal and professional wellness.
Dr. Sandra Buffkin, DC
Chiropractor
Dr. Sandra Buffkin brings additional depth and specialization to the Holistic Haven team. She earned her Doctorate of Chiropractic, graduating Cum Laude, from the Palmer College of Chiropractic, Florida.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. At Holistic Haven, Dr. Buffkin is certified in Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Techniques as well as Basic and Advanced Performance Kinesiology Taping. Her focus is on family health and functional medicine, with a holistic view of well-being. She values addressing both spinal health and nutritional needs for entire families and enjoys staying up-to-date with new approaches to wellness. Outside of practice, Dr. Buffkin enjoys spending time with her family and their dog.
Candice Faircloth
Office Manager
Candice Faircloth is our Office Manager and has been with Dr. Tori since 2016. A lifelong resident of Myrtle Beach, she now lives in Murrells Inlet. Candice graduated from Horry-Georgetown Technical College in 2013 and is a Certified Medical Administrative Assistant and a Certified Patient Care Technician. She has completed a Chiropractic Course through the American Medical Billing Association, a HIPAA Awareness for Healthcare Providers Course, and is SUMMUS Laser certified, all of which enhance her ability to support both administrative and clinical tasks.
In her role as Office Manager, Candice ensures the smooth operation of our office, bringing her organizational skills and extensive experience to the team. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her 4-year-old daughter, Addison, and their dog, Sunny. A passionate sports fan, Candice loves cheering on her favorite teams and values quality time with her family.
Devynn Crowell
Office/Chiropractic Assistant
Devynn Crowell is our full-time Office and Chiropractic Assistant. She attended AAST in the Pre-Medicine program and graduated from Carolina Forest High School in 2021. Devynn is currently enrolled at Galen College of Nursing and is expected to graduate in 2025 with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
In addition to her studies, Devynn is certified in the use of the SUMMUS Medical Laser, enabling her to assist in providing advanced therapeutic treatments. She has also completed the HIPAA Awareness for Healthcare Professionals course, ensuring she is well-versed in privacy and security regulations in healthcare. With her growing expertise, Devynn is a valuable asset to our team, supporting both office and chiropractic needs while balancing her academic goals.
Lilly McLendon
Office/Chiropractic Assistant
Lilly McLendon is our part-time Office and Chiropractic Assistant. She graduated from Socastee High School in 2023 and is now pursuing a degree in Psychology at Coastal Carolina University. Lilly’s passion for understanding human behavior and mental health provides a unique perspective that enhances her work in our office. As she continues her studies, she remains dedicated to her role, balancing academic commitments with hands-on experience in a healthcare setting.
Along with her studies, Lilly is certified in the use of the SUMMUS Medical Laser, which equips her to assist with advanced therapeutic treatments for our patients. She has also completed the HIPAA Awareness for Healthcare Professionals course, ensuring she upholds the highest standards of privacy and security in healthcare settings. Lilly’s growing expertise and commitment to learning make her an invaluable member of our team, supporting both office and chiropractic operations while furthering her education.

nutritional counseling
We provide specific recommendations on nutritional supplements and healthy food choices to help our patients return to optimal health. Do you know which supplements and vitamins are best for you? Are you aware of how these supplements and vitamins interact with each other? Dr. Tori Ritchie and Dr. Sandra Buffkin can create a structured nutritional program tailored to your individual needs.
laser therapy
During each painless treatment, laser energy increases circulation, drawing water, oxygen, and nutrients to the damaged area. This creates an optimal healing environment that reduces inflammation, swelling, muscle spasms, stiffness, and pain. As the injured area heals, function is restored, and pain is relieved. This is a non-invasive, opiate-free solution to pain. We are a certified provider of the Summus Horizon Laser, Level 4.
chiropractic care
We provide spinal correction using gentle chiropractic techniques. Never before in the history of chiropractic have we been able to offer the level of help and expertise that exists today. These newer correction methods are safer, more comfortable, and more effective than ever before. We often find it helpful to "coach" our patients on certain activities they should avoid or do differently to prevent aggravating their particular health challenges. Our goal is to help every patient achieve a fulfilling and happy lifestyle, full of the activities they enjoy most. We recognize that each patient is a whole person, and helping them achieve true health and wellness is a collaborative effort between our professionals and our patients.

We provide several therapy options to address tight muscles and fascia. These therapies include:
- Kinesiology Taping: Supports muscles, ligaments, and tendons, and can aid in pain relief.
- Ultrasound: Deep heating for soft tissues to increase blood flow, promote healing, and reduce pain.
- Traction and Flexion/Distraction: A form of spinal decompression.
- Cupping: Uses suction to pull on the skin, improving blood flow to a sore area.
- ESTIM: Electrical impulses that stimulate muscle contractions to aid in muscle relaxation post-therapy.

What should I expect during my first visit?
During your first visit, you’ll complete intake forms, have a consultation with one of our doctors to review your health history and concerns, and receive a comprehensive examination. This may include neurological, orthopedic, postural tests, and possibly X-rays. Afterward, the doctor will discuss findings and recommend a treatment plan that fits your goals.
Do I need insurance to receive care at Holistic Haven?
No — insurance is not required to receive care at our clinic. We offer wellness plans and will work with you to make care accessible. While we can discuss options and provide guidance, insurance acceptance can vary by plan, so you may also contact us directly to verify your coverage.
